I am 64 years old, retired on Social Security Disability. I was a successful  programmer/analyst for 20 years, with occasional breaks of couch-surfing, until a year-long depression left me officially homeless and officially diagnosed bipolar in 1995. While I was homeless, I became involved with SHARE/WHEEL homeless organizing efforts, Real Change street newspaper, and Wes Browning (the man I am happily married to). I am still active with all three, plus the coalition to Occupy CEHKC (Committee to End Homelessness in King County), the Seattle Raging Grannies, the 37th District Democrats, the Washington State Progressive Caucus, and the Seattle Housing Authority Resident Action Council. I also read a lot, write a lot, and dabble in computer graphics and organic gardening. Occasionally I go for a walk.
