Your body is a rainforest

I seek shelter
from parched and barren air
from television-bleached faces
from eyes that strip me naked
and never see my heart

I burrow into your arms
a wounded creature
going to ground

half the oxygen in the world
is in your kiss

my face against your skin
I see birds
sun-bursting from the vines
